Buena Vista Christmas Opening is Saturday, December 2
Join us and celebrate the start of the Christmas season with Buena Vista. December 2nd is a jam-packed day of events. You can do it all (or at least most) or just pick and choose which parts to participate in.
There are two – count them, two – parades this day on East Main Street.
The first is at 2 p.m., it features the equine of the area; horses, mules, donkeys, ponies and also brings Santa to the Community Center for photos with the kiddos.
The second parade begins about 5 pm and is our parade of lights. It is typically short but you will be cold so short is about the right length. It doesn’t matter how warm the daylight hours are, as soon as that sun goes down you will want to bundle up for this parade. The final float takes Santa to the Optimist Splash Park on East Main St. where the Town Tree is located and Santa, along with the community, will light the Town Tree for the season.
Pinon Real Estate Group, Buena Vista will host the showing of the free movie, the Polar Express. The movie will be shown at noon upstairs at the Pinon building. Drop off your kids and do some shopping or go relax and get a nice cup of hot coffee. Cookies and hot chocolate will be served after the movie.
There are a multitude of other events this day including a chocolate walk, caroling, chili cook-off, polar plunge into the Arkansas River, concerts and much much more. Click here for a full schedule, http://www.buenavistacolorado.org/bv-christmas-opening/.
